Pecha Kuch-ing

Seeing as I am watching Arsenal vs Man City with my brothers and stationed on the couch, me being the multi-tasker I am, think it would be a super idea to share some images from my debut at Pecha Kucha Bahrain which was held in the Shaikh Ebrahim Center.

Ouuwwchh..almost a goal by Nasri.. jezuz..

Anyways so Pecha Kucha was a pretty cool experience and the first time I got to share my work with an audience in my town. Here are some pretty cool pics taken by Bader Kamal, design extraordinaire who's only 20 years old and is now part of the Obai and Hill family.

Feedback for my presentation was great seeing as I perfected my timing and rehearsed loads before I went! Obai and Hill also had the pleasure of designing the Pecha Kucha poster for the event. More info on it here on our site.

LFW Day 2 - Caroline Charles

Caroline Charles did not present one collection, but three, each one marking a different mood and season. The first collection saw 60’s Jane Birkin meet Brigitte Bardot on the beach with red and white swimwear. The second saw blonde models wandering safari grounds in shades of browns, khakis and mustard yellows complete with oversized feminine duffel bags. Her last collection was that of a summer wedding bride in white sheer floral and intricate beading in detail on the sleeves. The White Bride summer mini-collection was the strongest, with Boris Johnson, Mayor of London giving his own nod of approval as the show ended.

LFW - Day 1 Paul Costelloe

The first LFW show kicked off with Paul Costelloe, who had his male and female models take turns on the catwalk. The palette for men was beige, grey, off-white, olive greens and browns, whilst the women wore warm nudes, salmon pinks and oranges. Highlights of the show included a male model in a grey jumpsuit and white glossy sneaks, with a skip in his step. What was also interesting to see was how all male models wore Balmain-like shouldered cream blazers with white cotton scarves, a definite first for menswear.

Post Liberty News

This is terrible of me I know, but I have been feeling blog guilty since my last post which was almost a few weeks ago. I blame my family for visiting and many passers by who made London their prime destination before heading back home to prepare for a months worth of fasting. In the last month or so I seemed to have re-discovered every nook and corner of this city with my little brother, embracing the sunshine and cool breeze to have icy drinks on the river or tan in the park. Another light yet fruitful event that I attended a week ago that befitted the summer mood was the Liberty print exhbition opening. On the Carnaby street exit of the Liberty store an airy extension store has opened its doors to its visitors. You won't be able to miss it naturally as the store has been clad in classic liberty print, probably straight from their archives. You also do not want to miss the Print Charming exhibit on the 4th floor if you around the area.

They said to wear your finest print!
